Friday, July 25, 2003 i actually have friends...who read my blog? i think there's ten of you now. my goal is to approach jimmy-like numbers. anyways, my life for the past two weeks has been somewhat hectic. work has been taking up most of my time - i'm exhausted and can't do much of anything once i get home...aside from shower off pounds of caked-on mud from my body. eric's last day was today, so i won't have a commuter buddy, and the week after next i'll have to start commuting from rockville, which sucks. but work is definitely easier, which i think is completely relative. i think i'll try and stay on for the duration, however, which may mean starting to drive to the shop in towson in the morning which will also suck. what doesn't suck is the pay, though i haven't gotten it yet. next friday, baby. this weekend i have to move out most of my stuff back home, how sad. no more living at 4701 for the first time in over two years. as usual, i'm too bored of my writing so i'll give up for now...until something exciting happens to me. g-g-g-G UNIT! posted by johnny | 7/25/2003 04:25:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2003 two days of the new job down, five and half weeks to go...this job is easily the hardest job i've ever had. one guy threw up on the first day, one didn't come back for a second day, and two others quit this afternoon. basically 50% of the new workers are gone so far, and eric has cut his working time from four weeks to two weeks. i just hope it will get easier by the day, but as of right now my body hates me. yesterday it hated me more, which is guess is a good sign. i'm also going to have the worst farmer's tan in recorded history by the time i'm done. i'm actually too tired to write any more, so i'll fill in the rest of the interesting dirt on friday, when i have the day off... posted by johnny | 7/15/2003 09:26:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2003 so i'm finally done with school, for a while at least. next week i start work, which should be really physically demanding and really financially rewarding. plus i'll get to commute and work with tk for the first four weeks. joy is coming to visit tonight = awesome. so are 15 other people = not awesome. apparently it's "visit 4701 weekend"... posted by johnny | 7/10/2003 03:00:00 PM Tuesday, July 08, 2003 Urban Challenge Washington, DC looks like amazing race lite... posted by johnny | 7/08/2003 12:23:00 PM Mile High Club Contest i don't know if this guy is a genius or a colossal loser... posted by johnny | 7/08/2003 06:29:00 AM the fourth was good, yet hectic. we didn't end up leaving until friday morning, and didn't even go to the lake right away. instead we went to my uncle's house - it was also my aunt's 40th birthday, and they were having a party. i hadn't seen them (my auny, uncle and two cousins) since christmas, so it was pretty nice. also radical was the view of the irondequoit fireworks from their front lawn. saturday daytime was pretty much of a bust. originally we were going to go to buffalo to see my cousin steve in a play, but that idea got trashed and we wasted time until we finally left to go to the lake. got there around 6ish, but there was still some time to get in some skiing. i almost got up slalom - emphasis on "almost". i don't know why i'm such a sissy boy this year, but i hope it's due to lack of practice. i blame that on my friends' abandonment of me this summer. anyways, saturday night we had a nice family dinner with about twenty people followed by a kick ass campfire built (as per tradition) by yours truly. sunday we hung around for a while, went double tubing with my awesome cousin kate, and drove home to boring maryland. i'm going to try and get back up there sometime this summer, and even possibly rescue molly from syracuse... posted by johnny | 7/08/2003 06:26:00 AM Monday, July 07, 2003 yeah, boy...it's fixed...now to compose my thoughts on my weekend... posted by johnny | 7/07/2003 04:37:00 PM Sunday, July 06, 2003 why can't i post to this stupid thing? posted by johnny | 7/06/2003 11:55:00 PM Thursday, July 03, 2003 i'm bored and waiting to leave to go to my family's lakehouse for the holiday, so i decided to blog a little. i thought i was going to leave this morning, but now we're not leaving until tomorrow, and i might be going by myself anyways. but i digress. last weekend was sad and stressful - joy moved out and back to rhode island. i don't really know what our relationship is going to become, but i guess right now we're on an "indefinite break". anyways, i'm almost done with class - one more week to go! i do have a research paper that i need to start and finish by wednesday. maybe i should working on that and not this. i start my new job doing wetlands restoration the week after next, making around $20 an hour at least until the end of august. hopefully my incessant boredom will turn into extreme exhaustion after a couple of days of walking around in the mud all day. i'm also sad to be moving out of good ol' 4701 in less than a month. i haven't lived at home in over four years, but am strangely looking forward to it. "it" being the free rent, of course. plus i'll get to muddle around with renovation and such in my basement to make it more livable. i think the rooms were decorated back in the early seventies. i have never used so many paragraph breaks in one blog before...i guess i'm feeling a little scatterbrained. oh, but it's time to go see T3 with TK. i'll blog again later, maybe with misadventures of my weekend... posted by johnny | 7/03/2003 06:35:00 PM |
